When it is time to produce something from a matter, click Generate document on the matter page. You can assemble an evidence package or draft a letter, watch the build run, and save the result straight back to the matter.
Two kinds of documents
Evidence Package assembles cover details, a summary of events, an exhibit index, and your chosen exhibits into one package. Letter / Agreement covers drafted documents, with the exact type picked from a dropdown: Letter, Demand letter, Engagement letter, Reporting letter, Legal opinion, Legal memorandum, Agreement, Settlement agreement, Non-disclosure agreement, Affidavit, or Notice.
Building an evidence package
- Fill in the cover. Client details, the court file, and your client's role. Choosing Applicant or Respondent fills the style of cause the right way around, so you never flip the parties by hand.
- Write the Summary of Events. Type it yourself, or click Draft with AI for a first draft you then edit.
- Choose the exhibits. Select files from the matter and drag them into order. Each exhibit carries a Tab #, Tab name, File Name, Date, and Description.
- Click Generate evidence package. The build runs in the background and the status moves from queued to processing to ready. When you see "Preview ready. Review, then Save to matter.", look the preview over, then click Save to matter to store it with the matter's files.
Letters and agreements
Pick the letter type, set the details, and write the content in the editor. If you would rather not start from a blank page, Generate outline gives you a scaffold to fill in. Generate, review the preview, and save to the matter the same way.

AI is optional everywhere. If no AI provider and key are set up, the drafting buttons simply say AI drafting is off, and every document can still be written and generated by hand.
With a CanLII key saved under Settings, AI, you can look up an authority by citation, or paste a CanLII case URL and click Fetch text to pull the decision text in as drafting context. There is no keyword search of CanLII; lookups work by citation or by case URL.
