Tracking time on tasks

A desk calendar and clock beside a task list, marking time tracked on daily work

Every task has a timer that records when you started, when you stopped, and each entry in between.

Start, stop, pause

Use the timer button on a task to start tracking and press it again to stop. Each start and stop becomes one time entry with a real start and end time.

Next to it there's a Pause button. Pausing ends the current entry at that exact moment, so nothing keeps counting while you're at lunch or in court. When you come back, Resume starts a fresh entry on the same task. Any note on the paused entry is carried over to the new one. The paused state is stored with your account rather than in the browser, so it survives a page refresh and follows you between devices; it's safe to close the tab and pick the task back up later.

One task, paused in the middle: two separate entries, both kept. Your total is simply the sum.

What pausing really does

A pause closes the entry properly, just like a stop, so that stretch of time is recorded and bills correctly no matter what happens next. The only difference is that the system remembers you intend to come back, and offers Resume instead of a cold start. Earlier entries are never edited or merged, so your history stays honest.

Where your time shows up

Each entry appears on the task's timesheet, showing who logged it with the start and end times, and in the Timesheets area, where you can browse, filter and total time across all your tasks. Stop a timer and the entry is there immediately.

💡

Pause instead of stopping when you're interrupted. You'll return to the right task with one click, and each work period is recorded as a separate entry with accurate start and end times.
